Day 9 brought a few finals including women’s NTRP 3.5 singles and the J100 ITF finals. It was also the first day of Open qualifying. A little bit of fun was planned for the players and fans with a serving competition too!
The women’s 3.5 NTRP singles was won by Suppamas Supawarnnapong who defeated Korina Chiu 2-6, 7-6(5), 6-0. The J100 ITF boys final was closely contested and featured two Canadian players. BC boy, Connor Church, came out on top, defeating Nicolas Arseneault 6-4, 6-4. On the girls side, there was an all US final as Aspen Schuman defeated Eva Oxford 6-1, 6-3.
For the J100 ITF trophy presentation, Tournament Director Max Korkh was joined on centre court by National Bank’s Ben West, and Tennis Canada’s CEO, Michael Downey.
Saturday featured a Fast serve competition with lots of prize give aways! It wasn’t just the fastest serves that could win. Accuracy also counted!
