ENTRY AND ACCEPTANCE

  • All entrants must hold a valid Tennis BC Membership. Renewals or new memberships are available here.
  • NTRP Players may play up to 3 events, however, only 2 events will be accepted for one week.
  • Entry Fee – Entry fee must be paid online at time of registration.

REFUND POLICY

  • Player must withdraw prior to the withdrawal deadline in order to be eligible for a refund.  
  • All refund requests received after the withdraw deadline will be eligible for a refund minus a $10 admin fee if the request is made prior to the draw being made.   
  • Refunds will not be issued once the draw has been made. 
  • All refund will be processed 7 days after the tournament is over. 

ELIGIBILITY

2019 Event Winners

  • All entrants must hold a valid Tennis BC membership. Players can sign up or renew the membership online at Renewals or memberships are available online at tc.tournamentsoftware.com or by visiting the tennisbc.org – Select Type of Membership.  
  • Any individual whose rights to compete have been suspended by Tennis BC or Tennis Canada are ineligible to participate in any sanctioned tournament during the period of such suspension. 
  • NTRP players who win 2 tournaments within the past 24 months are ineligible to compete in the same category. For eligibility requirements, see “Self-Rating Guide” and Tennis BC Ineligibility list available on www.tennisbc.org  
  • All juniors are ineligible to compete in all NTRP events.  Juniors ages 14+ are eligible to register for OPEN events. 
  • Tournament Committee reserves the right to place players into their proper category

ENTRY AND ACCEPTANCE

  • Players can play up to 3 events. NTRP players may enter in up to 3 events but, a maximum of 2 events in Group 1 or Group 2  
  • All entries are subject to approval by the Tournament Committee. 
  • The Tournament Committee may cancel or combine events if there are insufficient entries or may limit the draw size depending on court availability.   
  • In the event the draw size is limited, all entries received by the entry deadline will be considered based on merit, as determined by Rogers Rankings. Where certain entries cannot be distinguished based on ranking, players shall be accepted by drawing lots. 

DRAWS AND SCHEDULE

  • Draws will be single elimination. Other draw format may be adopted depending on the entries of the event. 
  • The event will consider reasonable scheduling requests, including travel time for out of town participants. Entries with unreasonable scheduling requests will not be accepted. 
  • No avoidance will be accepted if entering 3 events. 
  • Players are responsible for checking their own match time before and during the tournament.

Please note schedule is subject to change.  It’s the players’ responsibility to confirm their match times 2 days prior to their initially scheduled match.  Tennis BC will communicate any last-minute changes directly with the players.   

RULES OF PLAY  

The Code: Guidelines for Unofficiated Matches

  • Matches will be the best of three tie-break sets. Modified match format may be adopted in the event of inclement weather and unforeseeable circumstances. 
  • All matches will be governed by Tennis Canada Rules of the Court. Players are expected to abide by the Code of Conduct as set out by Tennis Canada.  
  • Players are expected to play when their match is called (All match times are approximate.  Match times may be early or late) Be prepared to play up to 15 min earlier than your posted match time.  
  • Lateness penalties including default may be enforced. 
  • Players without acceptable attire will not be permitted to play. Non-marking shoes must be worn while on court. 
  • As this is an outdoor tournament, match times may be postponed or delayed.  Matches may be played on different court surfaces, under lights, indoors or at alternate sites, or events may be cancelled in the event of inclement weather. 
  • All decisions made the Tournament Referee are final. 

CODE OF ETHICS FOR PLAYERS, PARENTS & COACHES  

  • Players are expected to know and understand the Tennis Canada Rules of the Court and the Code of Conduct. 
  • Players or any persons associated with a player (i.e. parents, coaches, friends or family) are expected to give due respect to the host clubs, their members, officials, other players and any other person associated with the tournament. 
  • Misconduct, whether on or off the court, will result in penalties against the player and any Player Support Team Member (coach, trainer, manager, agent, medical or para-medical personnel and/or family member, tournament guest, or other similar associate) of a player. Tennis BC has a no-tolerance policy towards abusive or inappropriate behaviour.
