Planning for the 2024 National Bank Stanley Park Open began almost as soon as the last racquet was swung at the 2023 event. What went well? What could be better? How can we engage more players, fans, sponsors? How can we grow the event?
Participation is somewhat limited by the number of courts, of course. There are only so many hours of daylight and matches take the time they do! Making the event bigger, better, and more professional is important, but without more courts, we had to look elsewhere to make improvements! What began in 1932 as a public-courts tournament like no other has remained just that!
It is still the biggest in North America and it takes place in one of the most idyllic settings: the much-storied Stanley Park. This year, there are some new fun features!
What’s new this year? Each weekend will feature try-it tennis activations on the grass near the main courts, including mini red-ball tennis and tether tennis, and for those who want to work on their hand speed, Spike ball. Bring the kids and have some fun!
Also new this year is the Tennis BC Official Merch Store! Come and check out all the great items in person at the Park or click the link here to place your order.
