Another sunny day at the LWSPO featured more junior action as the main draw of the 3.5 Star Junior competition got play rolling. The competitors were evenly matched in many cases and they produced some exciting tennis for the spectators to enjoy. These kids rock!

A quiet moment at the end of a beautiful day.

Later in the day, the NTRP took to the courts again with Women’s 3.5 Singles and Men’s 4.5 Singles action. There were 72 matches played today in the NTRP alone. Lots of folks stopped by to watch, although it was a little quieter–the lull before the storm of the weekend! Tennis BC staff and volunteers used the opportunity to recharge and reset as they began to gear up for the weekend. New stands were delivered in the expectation that the crowds will be coming for the weekend and the Open action that begins next week. The play continued late into the day and everyone still at the park was treated to another spectacular sunset to round out a great day of tennis at the LWSPO.

Junior Boys’ singles action was hotly contested.
