As Day 12 comes to an end, tournament organizers are hoping good weather is in the forecast for the rest of the week. Match play began today at 9:00 a.m. with the NJO and continued with main draw and consolation rounds until the evening. These young players are competing for a spot at the Fischer Junior Nationals coming up in August.

NJO action continues!

The Open started at 1:00 p.m. featuring Doubles and Mixed. Doubles is always exciting to watch and today’s slate of matches was true to form. Spectators gathered to watch the riveting rallies and the ooh’s and aah’s of the assembled crowd were a testament to the level of play.

Krissy Vann from CTV News was on site to present the weather–a constant concern for tennis players and tournament organizers alike! Tournament participant Javeed Kassam was interviewed about his experience in the 2022 LWSPO. Javeed won his Mens’ Open Doubles match with partner Nadeem Kassam on Tuesday 6-0, 6-1 but conceded in the Open Mixed Doubles with partner Jennifer Tse 5-7, 6-1, 10-5.
