The Open Semifinals are set, featuring the 2016 defending champions! At 11 AM, women’s singles defending champion and #1 seed Rosie Johanson will take on 7th seeded Stacey Fung, while the #3 from Alberta, Jena Cheng, will face Richmond’s #2 seeded Wendy Zhang. At 1 PM, the first men’s singles semifinal will be played, featuring fresh Princeton University graduate #5 Alexander Day against the LWSPO veteran and past champion #2 Henry Choi. Last year’s men’s singles defending champion and #1 seed Georgie Jecminek will have his title defense challenging by 19 year old Kyryll Kryvchun of West Vancouver.

Last Day of the 2017 LWSPO
Sunday will see the Open and NTRP wrap up with the best of the best competing for titles in their respective categories. The Open women’s singles final will begin at 11 AM, followed by the men’s singles final at 1 PM (please note these time are subject to change based on today’s results). Plus! The U19/U10 inaugural team event will make its debut at the Leith Wheeler Stanley Park Open as well. Visit the 2017 Tournament Info page before you head out to the Park tomorrow for the confirmed schedule.

Throughout the past week, the LWSPO has been giving away some sweet prizes from T1 Sports in Richmond, Tonic Active apparel and Spokes Bicycle Rentals. The Stanley Park Brewing Beer Garden will be in full swing all weekend long. Full of cold ones, giveaways, great tennis and even better company, be sure to stop by!

Leith Wheeler Racket Drive
This weekend is your last chance to donate any unused tennis equipment to the Vancouver Foundation. Leith Wheeler kick-started the Community Youth Tennis Fund with a $2,500 donation and have pledged to match the donations with brand new equipment with support from Rackets and Runners in Vancouver and Head Canada. You can donate all weekend long onsite at the LWSPO!
